First Grade
Today was Brandon's first day of First Grade! Today was such a big day for him. Not only is he now going to be in school all day but he is going to a new school, Hawthorn Academy. He was so excited about today that he was up and bathed, had eaten his breakfast, dressed in his uniform, brushed his teeth and combed him hair and was all ready to go by 6:45 this morning! And he has repacked his backpack and pencil case about 50 times in the last week.
Dave took some time off this morning to take him to school and so that was a special treat for Brandon. He also gave him a very wonderful Father's Blessing this morning before they left which reminded me of the beginning of the school year blessings my dad used to give to me at the start of each school year. Brandon is very blessed to have such a wonderful dad.

Happy Birthday Sean
Cleanse Diet
Okay so those of you who know me know that I have always been a MAJOR choc-o-holic! I have never had to watch what I ate and because of that I would eat junk pretty much all day long, whenever I felt like it. Well since I started having kids my "hollow leg" has started to fill up a little and I have found that I can no longer eat whatever I want and expect to weight 100 lbs. After I had Kyle I joined the gym and have LOVED it. I go 5 days a week for 60-90 minutes and work out really hard from kickboxing to weight lifting to step aerobics and have become a bit of a gym rat. I hate when anything interupts my gym schedule. Along with that I have also become a bit of a health freak. I know, hard to believe but I really have. I am very careful about what I eat. I make sure that I get my 5 small meals in each day, am very careful to get enough protein in, especially on lifting days and when I do have dessert it's only in the evening (as opposed to after every meal) and it's a very small amount. Well despite all that I still have about 12 lbs of stubborn baby weight that refuses to drop. So my friend Alena who I work out with every day and I are going on a 2 week cleanse diet under the direction of our friend Tiffany who is also one of the instructors at the gym. The gist of the diet is NO SUGAR, NO FLOUR and NO MILK PRODUCTS for 2 weeks. I know ... what's left? Lots of fresh fruits and veges, meat, eggs and I guess I will have to learn to choke down oatmeal (gag!) :) How am I going to survive without milk for 2 weeks? I am sure I will survive although it will be tough. Today is day 1 of the diet so here goes nothing!

Sun, Snow and a Sick Baby
This weekend at the cabin was definitely eventful. We went up Thursday afternoon and woke up Friday morning to a beautiful day and a sick, cranky baby. He slept a lot and was still happy when he was outside in the fresh air so we were able to go on some nice 4-wheeler rides. He didn't sleep that well that night though (so neither did I). Saturday morning was really cold and at 11 am it was 40 degrees. We went on a drive which was supposed to be scenic and relaxing and hopefully put Kyle to sleep. No. He didn't sleep, it wasn't relaxing and we hit SNOW! We ended up going into Mountain View to the Pizza Hut for lunch which sort of salvaged the day since the boys were not what you would call cooperative. We ended up going home Saturday night because I would rather be up with a sick baby and not sleep well at home rather then not sleep well at the cabin where we are in such close quarters. We took Kyle to the instacare on Sunday and what a surprise ... an ear infection!
