My New Kitchen

My poor kitchen has been in serious need of a facelift for quite awhile now. I have talked about painting my kitchen cabinents but have always chickened out which I am sure has always been totally fine with my husband who HATES projects. Now I love my husband, but I have learned that if I want something done, that I need to do it myself ... when he is out of town. Otherwise it stresses him out too much being that he is OCD. So Dave left Monday morning at 7am for a business trip and I went straight to work on this project that I have been planning for a month now.

Thanks to all my wonderful helpers we were able to crank the project out in no time. We were done with all the painting by the babies naptime, about 4 hours!! And that with 8 kids running around. Whoever thinks that stay-at-home moms spend their days watching soap operas and eating bon-bons have never met my friends. :)

Later that evening I antiqued the cupboards and painted the hinges and the next morning I was able to rehang all the cupboard doors and it was done. That just left me to wait nervously for Dave to get home and render his opinion.

Dave was supposed to be out of town until Wednesday so imagine my surprise when he got home this evening, a day early. I was so so so very relieved when he walked in and LOVED the kitchen!!!

BTW - I got a bid a few months back on getting this done to my kitchen by a professional and the bid came back at $2,400. We did it for about $130.

Eric's first day of Kindergarten

There is NOTHING cuter then a 5 year old SO excited about his first day of Kindergarten! Eric has been waiting for this day forever!!

Dave went into work late this morning so he could go with us to take Eric to his first day of school. Eric thought that was pretty awesome!

See ... nothing cuter!! He loved his first day and came out beaming!!!

Brandon's first day of 2nd Grade

Brandon was SO EXCITED to go back to school today! He starts 2nd grade today and is just growing up so quickly. He is so bright, intelligent and fun and we are so proud of him!

Eric has Kindergarten testing today and will start school next Monday.

Relaxing at the Cabin

We headed up to the cabin for a short weekend on Friday after Dave got off of work. It was our first weekend up there in awhile where we didn't have a lot of projects to do. We were able to just relax, enjoy ourselves and be silly!

Book Worm

When I was a kid, I read anything and everything that I could get my hands on. I guess not much has changed. Brandon ... well he definitely takes after his mother. :) We have made FOUR trips to the library this week! Each time Brandon gets a huge stack of books like this and by the next day he has finished them all and I have to take him back. What a little smarty!

Norberg Reunion

On the first Friday in August, every year, we head down to the Lehi City Park for the Norberg Family Reunion. This evening the weather was relatively cool, the rain held off and we had a really nice time with Grandma Norberg and the rest of our Norberg family.

Neighborhood Bike Parade

Every year our ward puts on a neighborhood bike parade. It's usually around Pioneer Day but this year it came around a little late. Today was the day ... the boys SO look forward to it!
