Master Bathroom Cupboard Remodel
I know ... I know ... I'm crazy. I am aware of that. Brandon came home from school yesterday and said "Mom, you started another project? I thought you said you were done with projects."
Well in my defense, I have had this one on the running list of projects in my head for awhile and after I did the half bath, Dave actually ASKED me to do the master bathroom cupboards as well. I KNOW ... I was SHOCKED too!! So he left to go out of town yesterday and I went to work, being the obedient wife, doing what he asked.

I masked everything off and spray painted the whole thing. Not too hard. Now I REALLY AM DONE FOR AWHILE. :)

Memorial Weekend at the Cabin
Memorial Weekend generally marks the beginning of cabin season for us. This weekend was no different, so on Friday we headed up to the cabin. This winter has been so mild that many of the quakies already had leaves on them which was unusual. But, despite the mild winter, we got surprised by some crazy weather at the cabin this weekend. It was cool the whole time, starting to warm up a bit today (Monday). But we got snowed on most days which was nuts. Nothing that stuck, but definitely cold. So we didn't do as much 4-wheeling as we normally do. We did manage to get out on a really fun ride this morning with Lance, Jodee and cousins Cole & Weylan. The boys have so much fun with their cabin cousins!!
In addition to the usual cabin activities, the boys found lots of fun things to spend their time doing.
They LOVE to ride their dump trucks down the hill to the shed.
We also managed to do some fishing. Brandon got his very own fishing equipment from Dave for Christmas and he was so EXCITED to use it!!
We started out at State Line Reservior but it was so cold and windy there that the fishing was no good. So we went to our favorite little fishing stream at China Meadows where we always seem to have good luck. Kyle is ALWAYS the first to catch a fish. Everytime we go there he puts his line in the water (well I help him) and within about 30 seconds (NO JOKE) he catches a fish!! This time was no exception.
Then within about 15 minutes both Eric and Brandon had each caught a fish and we were good to go home (it was COLD!) Everyone left happy from the successful fishing trip and when we got home we planted them in our garden which is supposed to help the fruit to grow super large. We'll see if it works!
Another thing that the boys love to do is to make "smoke sticks". Dave builds the fire and they find a long stick and blow smoke all over. Hours of fun for little boys!
The boys have gotten better about finding things to do outside and this trip they decided to build their own secret hideouts in the trees around the cabin. They were so cute and clever!
And other thing that they love to do is to eat shoot marshmallows with their marshmallow guns!
Dave even couldn't resist getting in on the action. He had a lot of fun pegging the boys with marshmallows!
It was a fun trip despite the cold weather and luckily we were still able to be outside a lot. Can't wait for a summer filled with many more fun cabin trips.

A Trip to Colorado for Grandpa's Funeral
We had a quick trip to Colorado this weekend to attend my Grandpa O'Berry's funeral. He was buried with full military honors which was really neat. It was a wonderful service and very nice that all our family was able to be there for it.
Since we were all together, which doesn't usually happen, we got family pictures taken. We haven't gotten the pictures back from the photographer back yet but I did snap a few myself.
The boys had a great time playing with their cousins.

Goodbye Training Wheels!
I had to go to a cub committee meeting this evening at a friends house in the neighborhood. When I left to walk over there, Dave was working on fixing the flat tires on his bike and Kyle's bike. The meeting lastest a whole 15 minutes and when I got back into the cul-de-sac, all the kids were out riding their bikes and Kyle, who had training wheels on his bike when I left the house, was riding his bike WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS! I couldn't believe it! I mean, the other boys picked it up quickly and I know that it is a skill that my kids have always been able to master in a short period of time but Dave said that Kyle had been on the bike for about 2 minutes. He can't start himself but he rides really well, manuevers really well and looks like he has been riding for a long time. Looks like the Barnhisel family is officially DONE with training wheels. Kyle was already eyeing the next bigger sized bike that is hanging up in the garage and talking about when he gets to have it. :)
Great job little buddy!!

Grandpa O'Berry
My sweet, wonderful Grandpa O'Berry died this afternoon at the age of 93. He will be very missed here but I am so happy for him to be with his wife, parents and other loved ones who have already passed on.
