Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  What a great day we had!  Dad, Jonah & Micah were in town for the holiday and so they went with us up to Silver Lake for our traditional 4th of July morning.  We walked around Silver Lake which was of course so beautiful!

Then we watched the little Brighton Parade.  The kids had a great time loading up on candy!!

Then this evening we had lots of both Barnhisel and O'Berry family over for a BBQ and fireworks.  Dave grilled up hamburgers and we had a ton of other yummy food.

Then Dave & Darren and our neighbor Tyren put on quite the amazing firework show in our cul-de-sac. It was awesome and the boys had a great time with their cousins and neighborhood friends shooting off fireworks and smoke bombs. And just as that was ending, right at 10:00, the city fireworks started which we watched from the backyard.

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July as well!!

4th of July Weekend

Happy Birthday America!!

We had a very wonderful and very fun filled 4th of July weekend with some of my family. My dad, step-brothers Jonah & Micah, the Walker's and the Sintay's were all in town. And of course Ryan & Alisa and their family who live here spent the weekend together partying all weekend! :)

On Saturday, we made a trip to Temple Square so Jonah & Micah could see it.

We also went to the rodeo at West Jordan's rodeo grounds which are walking distance from our house. That was super fun for everyone except for Collin and Liam who didn't appreciate the loud noises. :(

On Sunday, Grandma Norberg and Aunt Phyllis came up for dinner and that was a wonderful visit.

Then on Monday morning we headed up the mountains and walked around Silver Lake.

Then we got to watch the Independance Day parade up in Brighton where the kids had a blast collecting candy.

Then we went and hiked Donut Falls which was really nice.

That evening we BBQ'd up some burgers and shot off some fireworks. Dave & I picked up some aerials which are legal this year and those along with the massive amount that our neighbor shot off made for quite the amateaur show!! And for the first time ever, our city fireworks went off early. They started before 10pm this year and we all piled on the tramp and watched a great fireworks show. It was a PERFECT 4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July

We hosted our annual 4th of July BBQ at our house tonight. It was a lot of fun. As always we had great food, great company and a fun little firework show of our own (courtesy of Dave & Darren).
Brandon & Jadon were loving being BIG kids and getting to have their own punks to help light the fireworks.

Eric was wishing he could too. :(

The boys had lots of fun playing with their cousins.

I of course made the desserts.

The popcicles were a big hit with the kids.

Kyle goes to bed between 6:00 and 6:30 so he missed most of the festivities but he started to stir just before the big firework show so we got him up to join in the fun. He loved it!

Best 4th of July @ the Park EVER!

West Jordan City did so well this 4th of July weekend on the park activities! They usually have a petting zoo, pony rides and some jumping castles/slides. The boys always have fun at it but honestly, jumping castles do get a little old after awhile. This year the city had a good sized carnival at the park. It was so much fun! They boys spent HOURS over there today! They even got Dave to take them back over for a couple more hours this evening after dinner.

Brandon loved the Raider thing where you had to be Indiana Jones and go through a bunch of obstacles to get to the top and then go down a big slide. He also loved winning prizes!

Eric loved the Ferris Wheel and both he and I could've spent the whole day on the bumper cars!

Kyle only got to ride on a couple of things but he had fun none-the-less until nap time came calling and I had to take him home and leave the boys and Dave to play more.
