Lazy Sunday Mornings

I guess not having church until 1:00 does have its advantages.

Saturday Morning Adventures

We find that it's easier to get out of the house on Saturday rather then hanging out at home policeing the boys. So this morning we went up early to hike up to Donut Falls. It was so beautiful up there!

Then we went into Brighton where they were having a classic car show. Dave and the boys love looking at cars (especially Eric) and so they had fun. I think this one was Dave's favorite!

Afterward we went into Park City, had lunch at the Main Street Pizza & Noodle and were home in time for naps. It was a great morning!

4 year-old Wisdom

I have noticed that Eric has become very wise now that he is the ripe old age of 4. He often surprises (or cracks me up) with the things that he says. I thought it would be fun to write them down.

My head is a circle because I walk sloowwww.

Look mom! I'm getting some muscles out. (while lifting my hand weights)

Mom, be sure to not driver faster then the speed limick.

Vitamin Aide. (The boys are obsessed with reading nutrition facts on packages and Eric runs around singing the names of vitamins, at least as best as he can pronounce them.)

Mom! Brandon's correcticating me again! (Which of course Brandon had to correct him on that as well.)

Oh, can we get one of those yellow 4-wheelers? (he saw one on the side of the road). No they cost a lot of money. Can we go to the dollar store and get some dollars? Dollar stores don't give you dollars, they sell things for a dollar, you have to bring your own money. (He thought about this for a few seconds and you could see his little wheels spinning.) Are there any penny stores? (Eric's money collection is obviously made up of pennies.)

I couldn't find it. Where did you look? Nowhere.

Happy 4th of July

We hosted our annual 4th of July BBQ at our house tonight. It was a lot of fun. As always we had great food, great company and a fun little firework show of our own (courtesy of Dave & Darren).
Brandon & Jadon were loving being BIG kids and getting to have their own punks to help light the fireworks.

Eric was wishing he could too. :(

The boys had lots of fun playing with their cousins.

I of course made the desserts.

The popcicles were a big hit with the kids.

Kyle goes to bed between 6:00 and 6:30 so he missed most of the festivities but he started to stir just before the big firework show so we got him up to join in the fun. He loved it!

A Beautiful Holiday Morning!

This morning we decided to forgo our usual West Jordan parade and headed off into the mountains on a nice drive. We drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon and it was so BEAUTIFUL! We ended up in Solitude and took a nice hike around Silver Lake.

The boys had so much fun hiking around. Kyle did not want to be in the stroller but insisted on hiking as well. He had such a fun time. The weather was perfect and it was just a wonderful morning. I think Dave & I might have to plan to do this each year instead of the usual busyness of 4th of July morning.

Best 4th of July @ the Park EVER!

West Jordan City did so well this 4th of July weekend on the park activities! They usually have a petting zoo, pony rides and some jumping castles/slides. The boys always have fun at it but honestly, jumping castles do get a little old after awhile. This year the city had a good sized carnival at the park. It was so much fun! They boys spent HOURS over there today! They even got Dave to take them back over for a couple more hours this evening after dinner.

Brandon loved the Raider thing where you had to be Indiana Jones and go through a bunch of obstacles to get to the top and then go down a big slide. He also loved winning prizes!

Eric loved the Ferris Wheel and both he and I could've spent the whole day on the bumper cars!

Kyle only got to ride on a couple of things but he had fun none-the-less until nap time came calling and I had to take him home and leave the boys and Dave to play more.
